San Cristobal, DR - Omega Select U17G team needed to dig deep into their heart to earn a 2-2 tie against the Dominican Republic U17G national team.

The weather conditions were very humid and the field was wet due to hard rain throughout the night and the morning before the game. Nevertheless, the conditions were good for an excellent match.

The long flights and the cultural shock of San Cristobal seemed to have little effect on the Omega Select players during the game. However, they were ready and gave their all against the Dominican Republic U17G national team with great passing and hard work - In the 20th minute of the first half, the lively right forward Estelle Esperance gave the lead to Omega Select by turning a through ball from Dominique Ramirez on the right inside of the penalty area into a goal. Esperance's shot was toward the near post and was deflected into the net by a DR defender - In the 55th minute the proud Dominican team equalized on a contraversal goal after some adjustments and key subbings at halftime. Omega Select keeper Marissa Oehler seemed to have made the save from the high ball under the crossbar; however, one lineswoman said the ball had crossed the goaline - Motivated by the Dominican goal, the select squad started to apply intense pressure on the Dominican defense and took the lead again at the 65th minute mark. This time, it was 15-years-old Alexsondra Moar to score one for the team. On a feed from left winger Ciara Conley, she blasted the ball from the edge of the box to the top left corner of the Dominican goal with no chance for the keeper to make a save. Unfortunately, with only five minutes left of the game, the Dominican Republic U17 national team tied the game 2-2. This time there was no doubt that the one time low shot by the DR left midfielder was able to pass through several players in the box to find the back of the Omega Select's net - Final score 2-2

San Cristobal, DR - Omega Select U17G team gained yet another tie against the Dominican Republic U20G national team with the end result being 1-1.

The humidity was high with extreme cloud coverage throughout the second match between the Omega Select U17G team and the Dominican Republic national team. Luckily, the weather conditions were not about to dampen the spirits of the Omega Select players. With the strenuous training hours in the back pocket of the players since the previous game, the Omega Select team was ready to bring forth a new game where they would show off their possession skills and improved speed of play - In the 17th minute of the first half, the Dominican Republic U20G national team ran on to a lob pass from the central defender over the Omega Select defensive line where the Dominican team's forward #11, who was probably the fastest player on the field, ran past the defenders to the ball. By shooting the ball to the bottom right corner of the net, the Dominicans racked themselves a goal on the scoreboard - Giving their all in the last five minutes of the game, Dominique Ramirez chipped the ball to the right corner flag for right winger Ciara Conley to run on to, who then overtook a Dominican defender and crossed the ball into the middle of the penalty box. There, Breanna Schoenroth took a touch and performed a side volley, sending the ball with rocket speed into the left bottom corner of the net. This goal was miraculous because the moment the Dominican Republic U20 national team placed the ball for kickoff, the referee blew her whistle to signal that it was the end of the game. By scoring in the last minute of the match, the Omega Select players proved to everyone, especially for themselves, that fierce determination, heart, and skill can create goals - Final score 1-1

San Cristobal, DR - Omega Select U17G came out on top 2-1 against the Dominican Republic full women's national team.

The field conditions could not have been better: a clear sky with the shining sun hiding behind some clouds ever so often and a slight breeze coming from the east. These were signs of a new game about to be performed by the Omega Select U17G team. At the morning practice of game day, the team decided that they were going to focus more and do the little things to dominate and win the next game no matter what. Following up their morning pledge, Omega Select U17G stunned the Dominican Republic Women's National Team by scoring an early goal at the five minute mark. Shelby Potter with a defender on her back ,inside the box, shielded a pass from Dominique Ramirez then, she made a decisive pass on the left side of the box to Alexsondra Moar. The 15 years old came through again. She placed a one time rocket with her right foot in the top far left corner of the Dominican goal keeper who could only watch the ball crash into the back of the net. However, the Dominican Republic Women's National Team made it 1-1 late in the first half, from a corner kick. The Dominican number 11 forward, lept high above everyone to head the ball into the top corner of the net leaving no chance to goal keeper Karly Gustafson. Two minutes later, Gustafson, on a similar situation, deflected the ball above the transversal with the tip of her fingers. Otherwise, the number 11 again was in perfect position for another header. Halftime ended 1-1. -Like in the first half, Omega Select U17G came out strong and dominated the game both offensively and defensively. Ciara Conley on the right side and Alexsondra Moar on the left side were causing nightmares to their direct opponent with their speed and their dribbling skill. The holding midfielders, Dominique Ramirez and Aliyah Brown, took total control of the midfield with good distributions and great defensive positioning. The defenders, particularly Lucia Crosetti and Georgia Grzybowski, were masterful in the air and very tough on every tackle. Therefore, it was no surprise when Omega Select U17G took the lead in the 82nd minute to never look back. Estelle Esperance, the speedy attacking midfielder, scored the winning goal from a nice cut back pass of Alexsondra Moar that she calmly placed into the low left corner of the net. - Final score 2-1 in favor of Omega Select U17G.

Notable: Congratulations to Ciara Conley!

Her solid play caught the eyes of the Domincan Republic Head Coach who invited her to play for the Dominican U20 and Women's national teams in their future CONCACAF events. Ciara's grandmother is from the Dominican Republic.
